I have been interested in the 'unexplained', the 'different' and the 'alternative' side of life for as long as I can remember. I received my first set of Tarot cards as a birthday present, fifteen years ago. I started reading the cards for close friends and family but now also use my gift in a professional capacity.
The Native American aspect was initially a general interest of mine, through reading and also use of Native Tarot decks. However, this was amplified as I learned more about the Native American way of life when living in Western Canada. I met a member of a local tribe and found their way of life very interesting - mostly unaffected by modern life, indeed, focussing very much on ancient traditions and spiritualism. All Native American items on this site are hand made and sourced from tribes across North America. In trading with them it helps maintain their livelihood and also provides high quality items to my customers.
The clothesline currently used by The Dark Star is Nomads Clothing and additional suppliers may be added at a later date. Nomads Clothing is designed in the UK but each garment is dyed, stitched and embroidered in India, working under a Fair Trade Policy.
The Dark Star also trades with the renowned Alchemy Gothic and many other high quality suppliers of Pagan and Gothic items. Occasionally, there will be 'one off' items on the site, the majority will be 'base' stock that will be added to as new items become available.
